I’ve been humming and hawing about what to share in here for a while. Sometimes even the best thought through plans go out of the window and it suddenly didn’t seem appropriate to talk about career. However, I realise now that work is what many have been worrying about and/or focussing on. Some have sadly (and unfairly) lost their jobs, some have been furloughed and others are lucky to have still something as normal as going to work (even though it’s from home) to look forward to every morning.
For me, work has been my safe space. It’s what grounds me, what holds me in place and what helps me give my life purpose. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t fear for my job. I think many of us have been and still are. However, I hang on to the thought that change, though often challenging, can also be full of opportunities. And honestly, the reason why I hang on to that is because it’s the only way I can remain sane.
So I thought I’d continue to write about what I know, what some of us are going through and also venture into what I don’t know to learn with you new ways to navigate the world of work. Because although we may not know what the future holds, we can at least hope there will be something good waiting for us at the end of this strange tunnel.
Perhaps this isn’t essential, but life isn’t just made of essentials, is it?
I hope you will join me in this new journey and remember:
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
With lots of love,
