Book Review – We Should All Be Feminists, Chimamanda Ndgozi Adichie

As you can probably tell from the picture, my wonky copy of ‘We Should All Be Feminists’ has been through a lot. It has travelled two continents and three countries. It’s been read on the train, on a plane, in my room, by the beach and even in the jungle. During one of our adventures, this precious little book was unfortunately soaked in water inside my handbag. Despite its tough life with me, this book has left me lighter and more aware.

This is a short book packed with truths and facts that are often unspoken of. Chimamanda explains why being a feminist is important despite your gender as well demystify the meaning of this term.

Feminist: a person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of sexes.

What I loved the most about this book is that it expressed so well some of the things I feel as a woman. Things I could not put into words. It helped me to understand and recognise myself as a feminist. Everyone should be gifted this precious little book. It will definitely help us make the world a better place!
